Muscat, Oman Authority for Partnership for Development (OAPFD) today launched the 2nd version of the ‘ International Training Program’, which provides specialized training for the university students at the major international companies.

The two-month training program provides students with the opportunity to work for major companies that committed to the Authority. The training will enhance the students’ practical and specialized skills that qualify them to enter the labor market. The training also enhances the student’s self-confidence and cultural communication skills.

The second version of the training program targets 11 male and female students at the College of Engineering and the College of Economy and Political Sciences at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU). It also targets two students who have received scholarships from the Ministry of Higher Education to study at U.S.A and two students who have received scholarships from Oman University project to study in U.K.

The 2nd program, held in cooperation with the Omani Astronomical Association, also targets four trainees for training at Colorado University as part of Inspire Program which aims at developing innovators and creators in the field of innovation and space science.

The 2nd version of the training program includes training at FNSS of Turkey, STEYR of Austria, Denel of South Africa and LENCO of U.S.A . A report will be submitted at the end of the training to evaluate the efficiency of the program and how far students benefited from it.

The international training program is one of the programs under the umbrella of the youth skills development program, whose first version was launched in 2017 in cooperation with Sultan Qaboos University (SQU). It included sending 10 students in cooperation with FNSS , STEYER and OXEA.
