Muscat, A joint meeting was held at the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries today to promote the uses of artificial intelligence (AI) in agricultural fields. The meeting included specialists from the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, the Ministry of Technology and Communications, the Directorate General of One Million Date Palm Project, and Oman Technology Fund.

Issues relating to the development of AI in the agricultural sector and activities related to the sector were discussed. A set of technologies that were used in the Sultanate in aspects related to the agricultural sector, production and various related processes, including technology were reviewed that included using drones to control desert locust and Dubas bug, Ommatissus lybicus.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Hamad bin Said al-Aufi, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Azza bint Sulaiman al-Ismailia, Minister of Technology and Communications, and Dr. Ahmed bin Nasser al-Bakri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries for Agriculture.
