Japanese Premier Confers Prestigious Order on Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Bahwan

Tokyo, Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Bahwan,

Chairman of Saud Bahwan Group, Chairman of the Omani-Japanese

Friendship Association (OJFA) was conferred “The Order of the Rising

Sun, Gold and Silver Star,” one of Japanese elite orders.

The Order and the appreciation certificate has been handed over

to Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Bahwan by Shinzo Abe, Japanese

Prime Minister. After receiving the Order, Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud

Bahwan met with Emperor Akihito of Japan.

Sheikh Bahwan expressed his thanks and appreciation to

Emperor Akihito of Japan and Shinzo Abe, Japanese Prime Minster for

conferring this Order on him.

He also thanked the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs,

Mitsugu Saito, Ambassador of Japan to the Sultanate and Khalid bin

Hashil al-Meselhi, Sultanate’s Ambassador to Japan for their

contribution to the success of his visit to Tokyo.

Conferring “The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star”

to Sheikh Mohammed Bahwan comes in recognition of his tangible

contribution to enhancing cultural relations and understanding

between the two countries. Sheikh Mohammed Bahwan is the

Chairman of the Omani Japanese Friendship Association, which plays

a key role in augmenting the relationship between the Sultanate and

Japan. Throughout the past year, the Association organised cultural

exchange programs. It also endeavored to promote friendship and

cooperation relations between the two friendly countries.
