Japanese Ambassador to Lebanon, Okubo Takeshi, on Friday attended a corner stone laying ceremony for a General Security training center, in the presence of its Director General, Maj. Gen. Abbas Ibrahim.

Japan is funding the establishment of the training center in partnership with the IOM, which is to enable a better management of border control through providing necessary skills and experiences for security personnel.

In his speech at the ceremony, Ambassador Okubo commended the role that the General Security is playing to maintain security and stability in Lebanon.

“Japan believes that stability in Lebanon is of fundamental importance for stability in the entire Middle East region,” the Japanese diplomat added.
