Monaco, The half marathon world championships scheduled for November 22 in Yangzhou has been cancelled due to the coronavirus situation in China, the governing body World Athletics said today.

Yangzhou will now host the World Athletics Road Running Championships in March 2027 with the first edition of the event now taking place September 30 and October 1, 2023, in Riga.

For the first time next year there will also be championship races over 5-kilometres in the Latvian capital alongside the 21.1km distance.
