Muscat, The Muscat -based GCC Statistical Center held a ceremony on the occasion of receiving the International ISO Certificate in Information Security from Germany-based TAV SAD, specializes in testing, inspection and certification services.
The event was sponsored by Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid al- Zayani, GCC Secretary-General and attended by a number of GCC officials.
The GCC Secretary-General pointed in his speech to the importance of the diversity of sources of information at the present time, taking into account during the past few years the importance of the GCC- Statistical Center getting this international certificate.
For his part, Sabir bin Said al- Harbi, Director General of the GCC Statistical Center in Muscat, said in his speech that obtaining the ISO / 27001 certificate in information security by GCC Statistical Center is a complete commitment of the center to protect its information systems , quality assurance standard for the information security at the center, which gives the confidence of Member States in the procedures within the institution, especially as the center is concerned with statistics and figures.
At the end of the ceremony, Eng. Mohamed Amin al- Zammam, Regional Director of Business Assurance and Director of TAV SAD Office handed over the international certificate to the GCC Secretary General and honored the distinguished employees of the GCC Statistical Center.
