Muscat, The GCC Ministerial Standardization Affairs Committee held a meeting at the Advisory Board of the GCC Supreme Council in Muscat today to discuss the draft bylaw of the Gulf Standardization Organization and its budget for the fiscal year 2020.

The meeting was chaired by Dr. Ali bin Mas'oud al-Sunaidy, Minister of Commerce and Industry. It was attended by ministers and undersecretaries from the GCC member states.

Saud bin Nasser al-Khusaibi, Secretary General of the GCC Standardization Organization (GCC-SO), said that the organization sought to implement its strategic plan (2016-2020) in line with the priorities of the member states, the available financial resources and the timetable for its implementation. He added that emphasis was placed on conformity verification programs, the issuance and development of technical regulations, GCC specifications, efficiency tests, conducting technical studies and changes that contribute to the self-sufficiency of the Organization, as well as the results reached by the Preparatory Committee on the draft budget for the GCC-SO for the fiscal year 2020 which is presented before the ministerial committee.
