Muscat, The Committee of GCC Ministers of

Education held its third meeting today at the GCC Advisory Body.

Dr. Madiha bint Ahmad al-Shibani, Minister of Education explained

that this educational meeting seeks to strengthen the pace of joint

action and close cooperation between the ministries of education in the

GCC countries, in light of the royal care attached to the education

sector by the GCC leaders.

On his turn, Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid al-Zayani, GCC Secretary

General, in his speech, praised the good efforts made by the

Committee to improve the educational level in the GCC countries and

enhance cooperation and integration among them, pointing out that

this vital sector represents one of the important pillars of sustainable

development in the GCC countries.

The meeting discussed means to enhance role of the educational

institution in developing the culture of volunteer work, the strategy of

joint action and international cooperation between the GCC Education

Ministers and international organizations within the comprehensive

strategic dialogue, which was directed by the GCC leaders.

They also discussed the proposals of the Ministry of Education in

the Sultanate about the GCC countries' stance towards achieving the

fourth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals, the possible

support and coordination that could take place in this aspect, the

possible effects of the fourth industrial revolution on education and the

strategic programs that should be pursued in this regard during the

next stage.
