Moscow, Russian local emergency services

today evacuated about 500 people after a fire broke out at the

shopping mall of Greenwich in the Russian city of Ekaterinburg.

“The automatic fire alarm system quickly identified the fire and the

evacuation was conducted,” the news agency Sputnik quoted the

department as saying in a statement.

Sputnik added that the fire, which broke out in one of the

ventilation shafts in the third floor of the building, was extinguished in

14 minutes. There were no further details of casualties or material

damage.
