Digital Cultural Exchange Week Between Oman and China Kicks Off

Muscat, Activities of the Digital, Cultural Exchange Week between youth in the Sultanate of Oman and the People’s Republic of China kicked off today at Omantel premises under the patronage of Sayyid Said Sultan Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Culture.

The event is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture in China.

Activities of the event include a forum for youth pioneers of the digital culture industry between the two countries. In addition, the two countries present experiences of their companies in digital culture, such as cartoon films, games and online broadcasting and podcasting.

The event also includes various activities such as virtual art sculpture and photography exhibitions for Omani and Chinese artists, as well as Huawei exhibition for the Omani and Chinese youth in the field of advanced technology.

Sayyid Said explained that the activities have an important impact on building confidence and understanding among peoples, besides enabling the international community to address various issues of common concern. He further added that the strategic location of the Sultanate of Oman within the silk route gives it an important status for cultural exchange and cooperation

On her turn, Li Lingbing, Ambassador of China to the Sultanate of Oman stressed the importance of such events that serve the bilateral relations between the two countries and their peoples, particularly in the cultural areas.
