DIAB WELCOMES DELEGATION OF ARAB PARTIES, SAYS LEBANON DEEPLY-ROOTED IN ITS ARAB AFFILIATION

Caretaker Prime Minister, Hassan Diab, in the afternoon received at the Grand Serail a delegation of Arab parties which included: Heads of parties, MPs, as well as Arab political figures and trade unionists. The Delegation came to congratulate Lebanon on the occasion of the Resistance and Liberation Day.

After welcoming the Delegation that came to congratulate Lebanon on the occasion of the Resistance and Liberation Day, which marks Lebanon’s liberation from the 22 year-long brutal Israeli occupation, Premier Diab stated that Lebanon was deeply-rooted in its Arab affiliation and has made great sacrifices in the context of its commitment to the causes of the Arab nation.”

PM Diab added that the Israeli enemy was still occupying Lebanese lands and waters, and violating Lebanese sovereignty, expressing the belief that the occupation would end no matter how long it takes, as happened in all the countries that were under occupation, including several Arab countries that were liberated and achieved their independence through struggles and battles.

“We, in Lebanon, believe that Palestine is the compass that brings the Arabs back to their common cause, and to the unified Arab spirit that, unfortunately, has receded over the past years. […] Today, Gaza’s victory has revived the Arab nation’s cause, just as the victory of Lebanon did in 2000 and 2006. In July 2006, Lebanon’s victory laid the foundations for the victory of Gaza in 2021, and the latter will pave the way for a greater victory whose date will not be far off, God willing.”

Furthermore, Diab stressed the need to restore Arab solidarity, for our division makes our cause an easy prey for the enemy who is working on tearing us apart, dispersing our cause, tampering with our history, distorting our present, destroying our future, undermining our identity and affiliation, and stealing Jerusalem and Palestine away from us.

Premier Diab also called for solidarity with Lebanon that is going through very difficult circumstances today, urging the brothers and friends of Lebanon to stand by its side in its difficult ordeal, as they have always done.
