Muscat, Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud al- Said , Deputy Prime Minister for

the Council of Minister received in his Office today Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi,

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and head of the Pakistani

side at the 7th round of the Omani-Pakistani Joint Committee. The Pakistani Minister of

Foreign Affairs conveyed the greetings and best wishes of Dr. Arif Al Rahman Alvi ,

President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Siad and

wishes of further progress and prosperity for the Omani people.

At the beginning of the meeting, bilateral relations and the importance of promoting them

in many fields were reviewed. Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud al- Said expressed the Sultanate’s

keenness to enhance the joint cooperation between the two sides to embody the deep

historic relations binding them. Current situations in the regional and international arenas

were also reviewed.

The guest expressed his and that of his accompanying delegation’s delight for visiting the

Sultanate and having the opportunity to share views and visions on a number of issues. He

noted that his country highly appreciates the comprehensive achievements made by the

Sultanate on the domestic and foreign levels under the wise leadership of His Majesty the

Sultan. He praised the balanced stances of the Sultanate and stressed the importance of

the talks he had with the Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs and other Omani officials.

He expressed his satisfaction for the outcomes of these meetings on the future of the

Omani- Pakistani cooperation relations.

The meeting was attended by Yousef bin Alawi bin Abdullah , Minister Responsible for

Foreign Affairs and Ali Javid the accredited Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of

Pakistan to the Sultanate.
