Rome, Juventus made the most ambitious

move of the 2018 summer transfer window when they signed Cristiano

Ronaldo from Real Madrid, yet the forward simply can’t find the net

with the Bianconeri.

In his first two competitive appearances for the Turin club,

Ronaldo has taken 11 shots, but hasn’t managed to score with any of

them.

This is a far cry from his usual levels of production. Although

it’s worth remembering that in his final season at the Estadio Santiago

Bernabeu, he endured an awful opening half of the campaign.

He came closest to ending his drought in Saturday’s victory

over Lazio when Joao Cancelo fired a cross towards his Portuguese

compatriot inside the penalty area.

Ronaldo couldn’t find proper contact with the ball rolling under

his foot, thankfully Mario Mandzukic was on hand to spare his

teammates’ blushes by tapping the ball into the net.

The Juventus Stadium was rife with anticipation prior to kick-off

with this their first opportunity to see Ronaldo in action in Turin since

he stunned the Italian giants with a staggering overhead kick in last

season’s Champions League, the Spanish MARCA newspaper

reported.
