Council of Ministers Expands Fuel Subsidy’s Beneficiary Base

Muscat, The Council of Ministers today issued a statement

on expanding the base of beneficiaries of the fuel prices

subsidy system. The statement reads as follows:

In pursuance of the march of bounty that the country is

witnessing under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan

Qaboos Bin Said, the Council of Ministers has reached a

decision, in its session held on Sunday June 10th 2018, on

expanding the base (number) of citizens entitled�in

accordance with the fuel price subsidy system, to cover

recipients of monthly salaries of RO950, from the earlier

ceiling of RO600-monthly salary.

The Council of Ministers has tasked the designated committee

(that was entrusted with following up the development of oil

prices) to undertake necessary measures to implement the

new decision with effect from August 1st 2018, while at

the same time ensuring the currency/durability of the rules

being enforced, as announced earlier on this issue.

The Council of Ministers hereby reaffirms its keenness to

enhance all areas that serve the public benefit.
