Muscat, The Ministry of Commerce and Industry will begin receiving Busoor harvest 2019 from tomorrow (Sunday) including types locally called Al Mabsali, Abu Naranja and Al Madlooki from all the governorates of the Sultanate, in Al Busoor warehouse of the ministry in Wadi Al Kabir, according to the procedures in force in the past years. The deadline for receiving Busoor will be December 31st 2019.

The ministry pointed out that the work has been assigned to Oman Dates Production and Packing Company, which will carry out the handling, processing, marketing and sale of the harvest. The company seeks to optimize the use of dates products in the Sultanate, contribute to raising the gross domestic product (GDP), achieve profit for shareholders and the use of date-palm products in various industries.

The company also seeks to contribute to improving the quality of dates, improve the economic return of farmers, establish partnerships with owners of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), invest the results of innovation and research, and the company will sort and classify the crop according to quality from each wilaya.

The number of suppliers of Busoor for the 2018 season reached (544) suppliers and the quantities received from last season reached 2,475 tons and 331 kilograms.
