Muscat, The Ministry of Commerce and Industry
organized a preparatory workshop today for the Omani Industry Day at
the Sheraton Hotel in Muscat under the patronage of Eng. Ahmed bin
Hassan al- Theeb, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and
Industry, in the presence of a number of officials from various relevant
bodies in the industrial sector, governmental bodies and those
supporting this sector.
The workshop discussed a number of themes, the most important of
which were the recommendations that were implemented on the Omani
Industry Day 2018, which touched on the proposals that will be
discussed with the industrialists on the Industry Day, the most
important of which is the establishment of the Industrial Portal, the
Omani Quality Mark, the value added in the manufacturing sector, and
how to create work environment attractive to industrial work.
The workshop included a discussion between the Undersecretary of
the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and officials of the industrial
sector on the challenges of the industrial sector and the requirements
of the next stage to promote economic diversification in the Sultanate
and achieve the economic vision 2040.
The workshop also came out with a number of recommendations to
be presented at the Omani Industry Day on Sunday.
