Beijing, Smartphone shipments have rebounded in

China to more than 100 million units in the second quarter of 2018,

after a sharp decline in the first three months, according to a report by

industry analyst firm Canalys.

The recovery was a much-needed boost by smartphones and

distribution partners after shipments fell more than 20 percent to 91

million units in the first quarter, the report said.

The report showed that on an annual basis, the Chinese market

showed signs of improvement as the rate of decline fell from 22

percent in the first quarter to 8 percent in the second quarter.

According to the report, “Huawei,” including its subsidiary, “Honor”

has seen growing market share to a record of 27 percent, the largest

share of any smart phone company in China since the second quarter

of 2011.
