Sofia, At least 16 people were killed and

another 26 were injured when a tourist bus flipped over on a highway

near Bulgaria’s capital, Sofia.

Police said a bus carrying tourists on a weekend trip to a nearby

resort overturned and then fell down onto a side road 20 metres below

the highway.

The accident happened at 5:10pm (local time) yesterday

(Saturday) about 20 kilometres north of Sofia.

Ambulances rushed to the scene and took the injured to Sofia

hospitals.

Doctors said some of them were in critical condition.

The government declared tomorrow (Monday) a national day of

mourning for the victims, the ABC news reported.
