Madrid, After being presented today as the new
major shareholder of Real Valladolid, acquiring 51 percent of the club’s
shares, Ronaldo Nazario told a packed press conference at the City
Council of Valladolid, that he intends to grow the club.
The former Real Madrid legend spoke as chairman of the Board
of Directors, accompanied by the man who will continue to be the
club’s president and the person in-charge of managing the day-to-day
issues at the club, Carlos Suarez.
“Valladolid have more than 20,000 season ticket holders and we have a
large group of professionals at all levels,” Ronaldo began.
“We want to grow as much as we’re able and try to be as big a club as
possible.
“You can count on us to help the club consolidate in the Primera
Division, and to keep building.
“I’m convinced that it will be very difficult to win against us.”
Immediately trying to get the locals on side, the Brazilian
invited them to participate in the new venture.
“I want all of us to form this Club and I invite the fans to participate in
this project,” he continued. “Give us your ideas, opinions, criticism and
hopes.
“I want you to be part of the present and the future of the Real
Valladolid.”
Pressed on how he expects to achieve his ambitions, Ronaldo
was forthright.
“This new management will be defined by four words: competitiveness,
transparency, revolution and social,” he added.
“We will continue to work with our friend Carlos Suarez and we have
the best facilities available to meet our objectives.
“We want to form the best possible team to compete and there will be
a clear social content in all our actions,” the Spanish MARCA
newspaper reported.
