Cairo— The Bibliotheca Alexandrina released a new edition of “The Future of Culture in Egypt” by Dr. Taha Hussein, with a forward by Dr. Mustafa el-Feki and introduction by Dr. said Ismail Ali.
This book was first published in 1938. It is one of Taha Hussein’s most famous and most controversial books. It was like a big stone that rippled the waters of culture, a book that has produced since its publication various reactions, sometimes against and others in favour.
The book is divided into two main parts; the first deals with culture, identity, belonging and cultural orientation. The second part deals with education in Egypt and its relations with the other. More space is given to this part, as the author believed that the development of education in Egypt depends on the development of culture.
