Madrid, Kevin Gameiro could have a new club

sooner rather than later as Atletico Madrid and suitors Valencia have

accelerated talks to try to reach a resolution for his transfer, with it now

looking as though he will move to the Mestalla for an initial 15 million

euros.

There has been an agreement in place between the player and

Valencia for some weeks now, but the two clubs have struggled to

arrive at a fee that suits both.

In addition, the deal had added complications when Borussia

Dortmund expressed an interest in the Frenchman, and they had the

ability to offer more money than the LaLiga side.

Gameiro has not worked with his teammates in recent days

because of some muscular problems that he felt in the last week.

Atleti are currently in the Alpine town of Bruneck in Italy, and

Gameiro spent Monday morning alone with a member of the club’s

medical staff working on his recuperation.

The player is hopeful that the clubs can move closer to an

agreement, which will allow him to fly to Valencia and complete his

transfer.
