Ambassador Bakr Ahmed Al-Jaf presents his credentials as Resident and Plenipotentiary Extraordinary Ambassador to the President of Romania

Baghdad Ambassador Bakr Ahmed Al-Jaf presented his credentials as an Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to the President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, at the Koutrogini Presidential Palace.

The Ambassador conveyed the greetings of President Barham Salih and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fouad Hussein to the Romanian President and the Romanian leadership and reviewed the historical relations between Iraq and Romania, stressing the Iraqi government’s keenness to open new horizons between the two friendly countries and to enhance cooperation regarding the signing of agreements and memoranda of understanding in various fields.

The Ambassador also thanked the Romanian President for the support provided to Iraq, stressing his determination to develop bilateral relations to serve the interests of the two friendly countries and peoples.

For his part, the Romanian President wished the Ambassador success in performing this diplomatic duty and contributing to the development of relations between Iraq and Romania, stressing the importance of strengthening diplomatic political dialogue and its reflection on internal security and stability in Iraq and its regional balance.

At the end of the meeting, President Iohannis asked to convey his greetings to the President of the Republic, Barham Salih.
