Abu Dhabi, The United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) Al
Ain Club reached the Club World Cup semi-final for the first time after
they disposed of Tunisia’s Esperance 3-0.
Zoran Mamic’s men took just two minutes to set the tone and
take the lead when Mohamed Ahmed found the back of the net.
Before the midway point of the first half, their lead was doubled,
thanks to a goal from Hussein el-Sharhat.
The win was put beyond doubt with half an hour remaining
when Bandar Mohammed scored to set up a semi-final clash with Copa
Libertadores champions River Plate, the Spanish MARCA newspaper
reported.
