Muscat, The 5-day training program entitled Agricultural and Fishery

Incubators for beneficiaries of integrated agricultural and fishery farms projects in Wadi

Hibbi, in the Wilayat of Al Kamil Wa Al Wafi started today at the Ministry of Agriculture and

Fisheries.

Dr. Fu’ad bin Ja’afar al- Sagwani, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, confirmed in his

speech the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries to provide the necessary

support to the beneficiaries in the integrated agricultural and fisheries farms projects,

pointing out that the ministry is currently establishing a company to market agricultural

products.

Sulaiman bin Mohammed al-Salami, Director General of Agricultural and Animal Marketing

and Investment at the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, said in a speech that this training

course is an integral part of the integrated agricultural project which reflects the ministry’s

efforts to support the agricultural sector to serve the public interest by availing promising

investment opportunities.

He added, In order to ensure the success of these projects and achieve the desired

objectives, the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries decided to launch a business incubator

to train the Omani youth affiliated with the complementary projects, as well as scientific and

practical training.

He stressed the keenness of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries officials to do

everything in their power to ensure the success of the integrated projects in full, in Al Kamil

Wa Al Wafi and Wadi Hibbi , which is the first experiment to be followed and then be spread

to the other governorates of the Sultanate to encourage young people to enter into

investments with economic feasibility, to increase self-sufficiency rates of vegetables and

fish, and improve the ways of presentation, which in turn helps open the export markets for

the benefit of the country and the citizen, and enhance the food security of the Sultanate.

For his part, Ibrahim bin Yaqoub al-Nu’mani, Director of the Evaluation and Follow-up

Department at the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, gave a presentation on the

integrated projects and their importance in food production, in which he addressed the

productive and economic indicators and the idea and importance of integrated agricultural

and fisheries projects. He also discussed the idea and importance of agricultural and

fisheries incubators for integrated projects.
