Musandam, Oman Tower Company today

signed two main partnership agreements with Omani-Qatari

Telecommunications Company (Ooredoo) under the patronage of

Sayyid Khalifa bin Al Merdas al-Busaidi, Governor of Musandam in the

presence of Dr. Hamad bin Salim al-Rawahi, Executive Chairman of the

Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) and the Chief

Executive Officer of the Omani Information and Communications

Technology (OICT), Eng. Said al-Manthari, and a number of officials in

the Governorate.

The first agreement stipulated the strategic partnership

between Oman Towers and Omani Qatari Telecommunications

Company in order to complement the efforts of Oman Towers and its

strategic partners in the Sultanate, in particular the

Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), the Ministry of

Transport and Communications and other relevant government entities

concerned with land allocation, issuance of permits and approval, in

order to put them in a common form, that serves the objectives of the

Government and various organizations concerned with

telecommunications in the Sultanate of Oman, including the Omani

Qatari Telecommunications Company (Ooredoo) and other partners in

the telecommunication sector.

This agreement is one of the main agreements that frame the

joint efforts between Oman Towers and Ooredoo. Oman Towers will

build, manage and maintain the telecommunication towers that require

the expansion of the global mobile networks. The Omani-Qatari

Telecommunications Company is working hard to expand and develop

3G, 4G and future 5G networks in order to better serve its subscribers

and provide them with various benefits in line with the requirements of

the current and future stage, especially with the entry of the Fourth

Industrial Revolution into the planning and implementation and what

the Internet of Things (IoT) requires, high quality networks and large


As the second agreement also stipulated a partnership in the

utilization of the telecom towers infrastructure owned by Omani-Qatari

Telecommunications Company (Ooredoo), to be used by Oman Tower

Company (OTC) and its tenants wherever available in the Sultanate.

Ooredoo is also aware of the government's objectives and orientations

for the telecommunication sector and it works alongside with Oman

Towers company and other telecommunication industry partners. The

signing of this agreement comes after negotiations that lasted for

months to come up with the desired objectives that support the

government orientation.

The Omani-Qatari Telecommunications Company (Ooredoo) will

continue to explore the many opportunities in wholesale and the

available networks, including opportunities provided by Oman Towers,

in conjunction with the entry of the third operator, and this came to

increase the financial returns to its shareholders and to ensure the

continued success of Ooredoo. The two agreements were signed by

Ian Charles Dench, CEO of Ooredoo and Eng. Majid bin Amer al-

Kharousi, Managing Director of Oman Towers.
