RAMALLAH, Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, received on Sunday, a letter from Oman’s Sultan Qaboos bin Said, after the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, visited Muscat, on Friday.

Abbas received the letter through Oman’s special envoy, Salem Bin Habib Al-Omeiri, said a report.

The letter “thanked Abbas for his last visit, that reasserted the strong brotherly ties between both countries, and the mutual keenness to strengthen it,” said the report.

Abbas for his part, valued the great support provided by Oman, to the Palestinian people, and it’s just cause, at all levels, the report said.

He reiterated the keenness of Palestine and its leadership, to enhance cooperation, for the good of the Palestinian cause and Arab issues, according to the agency.

Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Oman’s minister, responsible for foreign affairs, said on Saturday, that, Oman is offering ideas to help Israel and the Palestinians to come together but is not acting as mediator.
