Muscat, The 7th international conference of the College of Education: Education and Entrepreneurship (Opportunities and Challenges) began at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) today under the patronage of Dr. Su'aad bint Mohammad al-Lawatiya, Minister of Arts Affairs, in the presence of Azza bint Sulaiman al-Ismailia, Minister of Technology and Communications and undersecretaries, State Council's members, academics, and students.
The conference included eight main themes including the historical and philosophical roots of education and entrepreneurship, higher education and entrepreneurship, education and entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship in human resources development and continuing education, successful practices in education and entrepreneurship, current and required legislations for education and entrepreneurship, local and international partnerships, entrepreneurship in education, and the future of education and entrepreneurship.
These themes contained (56) subjects in the field of education and entrepreneurship, nine training workshops, and display of posters and projects for various entrepreneurs. The conference includes three main seminars dealing with important topics in the field of education for entrepreneurship, in order to promote entrepreneurial projects in education and support entrepreneurs with outstanding ideas to create projects that contribute to the advancement of the education system, in the service of the Sultanate's march and its future vision 2040 with all its noble entrepreneurial principles and values.
On the sidelines of the conference, which lasts until 4 March, an exhibition is held that included two parts, the first includes 17 posters concerned with education and entrepreneurship, and the second section includes 8 different initiatives from local institutions concerned with entrepreneurship and education. These are Omani institutions and managed by Omani cadres specialized in education and entrepreneurship.
