Ouagadougou, At least 14 civilians were killed in an

attack by militants in northern Burkina Faso, an army statement said.

This comes on the eve of the five-nation summit (five Sahel countries

� Burkina Faso, Chad, Mali, Mauritania, and Niger) in Ouagadougou.

The attack in the town of Kain, in the Yatenta province, bordering

Mali, is one of the most serious attacks in Burkina Faso. About 300

people have been killed in attacks by militants in Burkina Faso since

2015.
